A fascinating 15-minute documentary that explores where the deaf culture and hearing culture meet, struggle, and resolve in two unique families. The story focuses on a hearing child of deaf adults (CODA) and a deaf child of hearing parents. These youths navigate the world of sound or the world of sign language which for many, is "silence", to communicate, and bridge the two cultures. The documentary fosters mutual awareness, acceptance and understanding between the deaf and hearing worlds. It was produced and directed by one of our staff members in a group project at San Francisco State University.
